I shot the big concert at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD last night. I'm still going through the shots, but I wanted to get this teaser up right away.

Here is a cool sequence of Crispin Earl of The Veer Union. They were great and got things started out right last night.

Mudvayne Live Concert Photos -New Game

Remember that Ozzfest story from yesterday? Well, it just so happens that another metal band was playing on that same stage a bit later in the day. This band was enjoying immense popularity with the success of their debut album. They were known for their on-stage antics as well.

I managed to get a bit closer to the stage than I was for Nonpoint.

Nonpoint Live Concert Photos

Well, my concert photography career has come full circle now. In 2001 I was living in Jacksonville, FL while I was still in the Navy. A friend and I went down to Tampa for Ozzfest that year, and I brought a crappy little disposable camera with me.

Nonpoint just happened to be one of the bands on the Hot Topic stage that day.


My equipment and (hopefully) my photography skills have improved since then.

In This Moment Live Concert Photos

In This Moment opened up the show with a killer set. Lead signer Maria Brink alternated between charming the crowd with her voice to whipping them into a frenzy with an intense metalcore growl.

It was a great start to the evening.
